Israel has the third largest concentration of startup companies in the world, preceded only by California's Silicon Valley and the Boston technology corridor. Some 2500 Israeli technology startups currently market their products in the US alone.
The INNI nanotech R&D survey identifies 65 early-stage nanotech firms operating in Israel in seven fields of activity. Like other nations, Israel is focusing special attention on these startups and creating new frameworks to promote and finance faster commercialization of nano-enabled applications.
Israel's success in nanotech will ultimately be reflected in the breadth, number and success of its nanotech startups.
